JASON BORDERS

Manager and Head Coach
AA Program

Coach Jason Borders has been around the Powell Pioneers program for nearly four decades. He played for the team in the 1980s and had his initial stint as coach from 1998-2001. Borders spent many seasons coaching Little League and Babe Ruth baseball as well. Borders returned to the Pioneers in 2009 as an assistant coach for three years before becoming the head coach again for another three years when he transitioned to coach in Lovell for 6 years. In 2021, Borders was hired again as head coach of the Pioneers and led the program to state titles in 2023 & 2024. He has been a part of 4 state championship teams. One of the highlights of his coaching career was his induction into the Wyoming Legion Baseball Hall of Fame in 2024.

CORY NUSS

Assistant Coach AA Program

Cory Nuss has been a member of the Powell Pioneers as a player, parent, board member, and coach. He played on the Pioneers from 1994-1996 with two teams in the state championship, 1995 runner-up and taking the title in 1996. He was voted the MVP of the state tournament in 1995. He has coached baseball for Powell programs for over 15 years, from T-ball  and little league to All-Stars and Legion ball. More recently he was on the coaching staff of the Legion B State title team of 2024.His favorite baseball memories are coaching and watching his son Talon play at all levels.

TYLER ENGLAND

Head Coach
B & C Programs

Tyler England played as a Pioneer from 2009 through 2011. He has coached the team in various roles since 2017. Each season, he looks forward to watching the kids grow as young men and baseball players. Tyler's favorite baseball and life quote is "Rub some dirt on it."

RYAN CORDES

Assistant Coach 
B & C Programs

Ryan Cordes has been a part of the Powell Pioneers program since he was in 8th grade, about seven years now. This is his first year coaching baseball and he is looking forward to helping the young men on the team become better baseball players and prepare them for their future. Ryan's favorite baseball memory is going to the state tournament in his senior year.

The Powell Pioneers baseball program takes pride in hiring coaches who are capable of leading our young men both on and off the field. While baseball knowledge is important, having these high-integrity individuals running our program is paramount.
